Great story. I don't remember the one that actually goes with the piece. However the artist is Patrice Garcia. He does a ton of Sci-Fi concept art & design for film & entertainment industries (Fifth Element & Valerian). He does some incredible work and you could end up doing an entire short story series just on his stuff alone.
